soo much left to do

Soo..tomorrow is the last day of class before our final! I am about 3/4 of the way done with my project so I have tons to keep me busy this weekend. I am doing a spin of Loretta Lux's work since this is something I've been wanting to do for quite awhile now. I love the awkwardness and surreal aspect of her photos and wanted to try it for myself. Lux photographs children for the most part-so I'm doing adults. My photos so far aren't as desaturated as hers but I think I've come close to getting that surreal feeling. Images are soon to come.

new mini project

I'm trying to figure out still what I want to do for this mini project..I have this idea of using the human brain, and the viewer being able to click on different lobes and things will happen..not sure what things. I'm also going out of town this weekend so i have a lot of work to do before that.

website

So..i am understanding Flash a little better..just a little. My website is pretty basic-I just wanted it to be simple and straight forward, just focusing on my work and nothing else. I guess I'm not a very graphic person. But..I'm going to finish the rest at home tonight and hopefully the animations i made in class transfer over smoothly.

new animation?

Here is another animation..a little jerky-for some reason when I was making my screen shots-the numbers weren't always the same when i tried to line it up in the same spots ( if that makes sense ) so i was guessing and i think it got messed up. This needs sound but I think it's kind of funny.

i've lost my mind

i really don't know what to say about this.
i wanted to work with the relationship between people and animals but that didnt really pan out. this animation is kind of an exploration of shapes and i feel has a kind of childrens book feeling to it...so i whistled childrens songs along with the animation.
i ended up including a cat sketch that i did at the end because i thought he was funny.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

so i've pretty much been trailing..all semester. and i'm really behind right now and i need to get it together. i want to spend a lot of time this weekend working on this animation but i can't figure out how to make the screen shots in illustrator on a PC..can anybody help me with that?! thanks.

sketchboooook stuff

So i haven't been able to do much lately but, i'm working on some sketches tonight so i'll post those later.
i lost my job too which is sweet.

re-do

So I re-did 2 of my images. I'm not quite sure how I feel about the sleep walking one-although I am enojoying the new little guy I sketched and added to the one that says sweet dreams. alakjdfaoiehrfiah

maybe finished

So I guess I'm pretty much finished with my 3 images. I'm worried they aren't as cohesive as I was intending. I think the image with Alvin ( my giraffe ) is sort of a play on counting sheep-although I don't know if that is easily read. The image with the green lettuce background and Andy walking through the page was meant to be read as sleep walking. And my final image with bbc ( the teddy bear ) flying into the image , and the faint water/sky overlay was meant to just be an image of a dream.
I'm in class and just trying to clean up some of my selections that were a little sloppy.





So..i have to change a few things. the lettuce background feels a little too harsh for the dream sequence. also-the fact that andy is looking at the viewer makes it feel as if it's not a dream. i'm also trying to make some more sketches like my giraffe to incorporate.

I guess aside from the portrait aspect of my collages I'm trying to incorporate a relationship between people and animals. There isn't any physical interaction between the two in my collages but just an implication of a relationship. Also in my photography class I'm working on a series of images of my dreams and I wanted these collages to have a dream-like quality to them. Still trying to achieve that though and I'll have my third image up by tonight.

weekend work

I've been working on my 3 images still trying to figure out what direction it's going. I was trying to follow that of Loretta Lux but with a different color style and maybe a little more modern twist ( if that makes any sense ). I'm out of town and forgot my flash drive to upload images but..pretty much what I'm doing is portraits-with altered color to make them look very vibrant-and with very textured backgrounds. I'm also trying to incorporate some animal form in each of them.
